The IAKP

About the IAKP

The International Association of Kambo Practitioners (IAKP) is a not-for-profit foundation committed to promoting the safe, responsible, ethical, and sustainable use of Kambô. Established in early 2014, IAKP develops best practices through training, research, knowledge-sharing, and awareness-raising—which all help safeguard both clients and the indigenous communities who steward this powerful Amazonian frog mystery. Training & Global Reach

IAKP offers a structured training pathway: Basic Practitioner → Advanced → Teacher Training, along with a Master Practitioner mentoring program. Courses are available worldwide—in locations such as Europe, Mexico, Bali, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the USA—in languages including English, Spanish, German, and Polish.

These programs not only teach the history, traditional uses, and safety protocols of Kambô, but also emphasize a set of core methodologies developed by the IAKP and rooted in tradition.

IAKP Key Methodologies

  • Layered Treatments: gradual, stepwise application to manage intensity safely
  • Chakra Treatments: applying points to energetic centers to align and balance
  • Test-Point Method: a small point first to assess client sensitivity and safety
  • Marma & Meridian Work: integration of body-energy points from traditional healing systems
  • Self-Treatment Protocols: empowering practitioners to safely administer Kambô to themselves
  • 3×3 Warrior Initiation: three points applied in three hours, a rite of passage experience

Ethics & Indigenous Support

The IAKP deeply honours the indigenous peoples whose ancestral knowledge has made Kambô accessible beyond its traditional roots. The organization actively supports the sustainability and wellbeing of rainforest communities—especially the Matsés of Peru—through direct donations, fair-trade initiatives, emergency and community funding, and health & educational programs (IAKP — About).

In recent years (2022–2023), IAKP broadened its philanthropic reach to include urgent pandemic and climate-related support. In 2024–2025, it selected the Brazilian permaculture & agroforestry initiative Eco Caminhos as its “Charity of the Year,” channeling resources to fund youth apprenticeship and regenerative projects (IAKP — Causes & Donations).
